Giant carrier spending – what now for Westland
Image via Wikipedia
The Ministry of Defence has announced that they are signing contracts for two new giant aircraft carriers. As I have posted before there are real concerns about the quality of equipment we give our forces to use but also the fact that our armed forces are smaller know than they have been in a generation.
Whilst this contract is certainly to be welcomed let u hope that there is not a weakening in the commitment to the Future Lynx orders which are so vital to the long term survival of Agusta Westland but also to jobs in the Yeovil area. But aside from these local issues this order demonstrates a commitment to our armed forces.
