Council tax freeze

George Osbourne has just announced that and incoming Conservative Government would freeze Council tax for two years. Any local authority that limited its spending increases to 2% would get that money paid to them by the Government.

This would be good news for all those ho have struggled over council tax payments and coupled with the pledge on Saturday to return to weekly rubbish collections should be a matter of great joy for local council. Now all we need to see is which of those councils responds to this pledge.
