Its not powerful, its just wrong. Tories caused more than 3 million to be unemployed last time they were in. And that was due to their own stupidity rather than external (and global) financial crisis.
Labour were in power the last time this poster was used (1979). It was right then and is right now. As it happens I listened to a tape of Jim Callaghan in his closing speech during that election and he blamed - "world financial markets" for the jobs crisis.
