Victory

The Conservatives in South Somerset have made strong gains in Thursday's local elections.

Not only did we wipe Somerset clean in the County elections, taking control for the first time in 16 years, but in the Yeovil constituency we saw the first seat taken from the Lib Dems in decades and others, especially in Yeovil itself, which were very close.

I have heard that the Lib Dems were pleased with their results in Yeovil. Whilst they may have won the seats their once huge majorities were slashed right across the constituency. If they wish to be compacent then that is for them but people on door steps were telling us that they wnat a change of Government and even though they might support the Lib Dems in the local elections that will change come the General Election.
