Dangerous Iraqi bomb detector in Somerset

- Image via Wikipedia
There was a very disturbing Newsnight story yesterday which reported that a company in Somerset – Sparkford it appears – has been selling a device to the Iraqi military that supposedly can spot bombs and thus save lives. In fact the opposite appears to be true and that the bomb detector does not work but is being sold to a country where lives depend on it. The question is posed as to how many of these devices have actually led to a loss of life in Iraq.
This is not in the Yeovil constituency but I have written to the shadow defence team to ensure they are aware of the problems this dangerous device is causing.
You can see the Newsnight story here.
