To accommodate the varying toxicities of aclcohol by strength on quantity of units normally able to be consumed, a tiered consumption chart just as complicated as the current Royal Mail's Postal Charges system is required. Pubs, breweries, & other licenced premises could provide and display charts prominently for customers to make better informed choices about what they drink, based on strenth of their beer or wine, their weight, BMI, gender etc.

I can't actually think of any better system than the units conversion as a generality, and if any driver is in doubt that they might be borderline or over the limit, then, under risk of the law even if not for their fitness to now take a car from A to B, the only way to be safely sure is to just not drink and drive.
I wondered if licencees could supply some Blood Alcohol measuring device on the premises, but, as you drove that measure would rise.
